we're in a bit of a dogfight, we'll need to pick up some points from the bigger clubs as well, hopefully pull off draws vs liverpool and manu. Games vs West Ham and Everton are going to be very tricky, those are games we can win, and will need to win to avoid the drop, but we play them away. If we can win at Spurs, and at Birmingham then we've also got a good chance.. but i dont know anymore. The players seem to have lost their fighting spirit. I just pray we dont get relegated :(

Im still worried Simo. I don't like the look of it at all. Be great if we got a surprise win somewhere but I just cannot see it happening. Even with a goal up and 45 mins to go we fall apart. Positives were though first half we were better team. Its like Jekyll and Hyde. Seriously its Sam Allardyce's doorstep where the blame lies. He had such an easy run in and did shit and thats why the toon fans wanted him out. Unfortunately whoever came in they had a battle on their hands. We must stress this isnt Keegans fault and I think there are things going on behind the scenes with certain players who are bad apples and we are stuck with them. For rest of season id play Faye and Emre in the midfield. We need a team that stays on the field now for the rest of the season and work with that.

Looked at the other teams in that lower levels of the table - I don't think that we've got necessarily a worse run-in than anyone else, despite the next few games being hard. It's entirely even, so game on...

Right, prediction time, care to join in?

Newcastle v Man Utd (0)
Newcastle v Blackburn (0/1)
Liverpool v Newcastle (0)
Birmingham v Newcastle (1)
Newcastle v Fulham (3)
Tottenham v Newcastle (0/1)
Newcastle v Reading (1/3)
Portsmouth v Newcastle (0/1)
Newcastle v Sunderland (1/3)
West Ham v Newcastle (1)
Newcastle v Chelsea (0)
Everton v Newcastle (0)

So 7-14 points I reckon... If we're on 28 points now, that leaves us on 35-42 points by the end of the season. I think 38 points will be the mark to hit, which effectively leaves us very much on the edge... This really is awful.

I am seriously worried mate. I just can't see where our next 3 points is going to come from. Blackburn at most currently is 1 point. Thats a worry when teams around us are winning! Our cushion is well and truely gone now. Players constantly talking the talk but they never walk it do they. This is not Keegans fault niether. Hes inherited a complete shambles and Allardyce has the balls to say the job was too small for me. Whatever get over yourself... Your crap!

I always half expected us to lose, Villa were after all chasing 4th place, however the manner of the loss is worrying... Effectively the only team in the next three games we stand a chance of getting anything from is the Blackburn game, where we have to be the underdogs.

After that we have a run of "easier" games, but we have to get a few wins there or we're in serious, genuine trouble. I support Keegan completely, but this is a big test for a man out of football for two or three years... All of the other teams around us, as you say, really look like they can win a game.

It's going to be a nervous run-in.
