Ash Will Get It Right
Former Tottenham Vice-Chairman and good friend of Mike Ashley, Paul Kemsley (to some known from Alan Sugars ‘The Apprentice’) had some words of wisdom on the sacking of Allardyce today.
Paul Kemsley said : “People have got to realise that Sam Allardyce was not Mike’s choice, Mike bought the club with him already employed.”
“Mike took the view that he is in the job, let’s see if he can deliver what I want, which is good-quality, attacking football and to win games. I’ll give him time to see if he can deliver that.”
“Mike has put £250million into the club and is about to invest more, no doubt, in the window, and I suspect he wants to invest that in his own man and his own team.”
“Mike’s a very considered guy. It is certainly costing a lot more initially than he thought it would.”
“He, along with everybody else at Newcastle, wants to see good-quality football, they want to win, and he’s a winner.”
“It’s a difficult decision whenever you get rid of a manager and there are always a thousand opinions. But he thought about it and decided it was in the best interests of the football club.”
“I know Mike well enough to know that he doesn’t make decisions rashly. He will know where he’s going, he will stick to his plans and deliver what he believes will please the Newcastle fans.”
“If you give him time, he will deliver exactly what the Newcastle fans want. I’m sure he’s got a plan.”
Certainly encouraging words from a geordie fans point of view.

Ive always thought you don’t choose Newcastle United and spend a fortune on it to wear the top and watch dull boring football. The guy isnt that daft considering hes made over £2 billion.

I am looking forward to seeing exciting football at the Toon again - I am not sure I like sacking a manager so quickly but I see the point being made. I think if I had invested that much money I would want to see things going in the direction I wanted it to go. I wait to see who comes in - hopefully someone for the long term

I don’t think there is any doubt that NUFC fans want to see a manager come in for a long term. Hopefully this appointment will see us get the right man. Whoever it is they must be backed by the fans from the off even if it isnt who they personally wanted. We get behind him, give him a go and hopefully he’ll get off to a good start and continue from there. We don’t want any negativity surrounding the club. We need to build on the excitement a new manager coming in brings and hopefully go from strength to strength.

Well, if “Ash will get it right” means he signs Rednapp at some exorbitant fee then I dispair……….

I wouldnt believe everything you read in the paper. a). could be a smokescreen b). if there is a payment id go for less than 50% the papers are quoting. Why is Mort/Ashley ever going to release that information. Its a figure they’ve plucked out of the air like most of their stories about 100% of geordies wanting Alan Shearer for the job.
