First Signing? Jonas Gutierrez
Well according to reports out of the blue… Newcastle United and Kevin Keegan have made their first summer signing. Reports suggest we have officially signed Jonas Gutierrez of Real Mallorca on a 5 year contract.
Jonas is Argentinian and at 25 has years ahead of him. He is known for playing as a winger and has previously been linked to the Premier League.
“I cannot tell you how excited I am to be joining Newcastle United.”
“The Premier League is a great place to play and I cannot wait to meet my new team-mates and prove myself to the Newcastle United fans.”
Keegan has added, “Jonas is a wonderful signing for us. I know a lot of other clubs have been interested in him. He will be a terrific addition to the squad. He is an exciting player and I’m sure our fans will enjoy watching him.”
So at last we see some rewards for work behind the scenes. Lets hope he repays the faith shown in him by KK.

Yep, don’t know too much about him other than Redknapp and Sven have been linked with him. He’s in the Argy squad so can’t be too bad (you’d hope). )

Oh, and he puts on a spiderman mask when he scores. That alone is enough for me to ask for his signature. lol

KK did say we see our football as a panto/opera our entertainment at a weekend lol. Brings a whole new view to it. From what ive seen he looks tidy. People are saying what does this mean for Milner? Quite frankly nowt. They’ve said they keeping him and adding to the squad is more important than bodies out first. There is nothing wrong with competition and Milner needs some to improve as I still dont think hes good enough.

Thing is, I always thought Milner was more effective on the left, so maybe they could both be accommodated? Plus I would argue that both Milner and Zogs could play well in the attacking central role, given the time and a good defensive midfielder sat behind them. Or Milner could be shipped out as he lacks end product. Either way Toon, as you say, we need bodies and competition in the squad. Besides, it will take the lad time to adapt from the Spanish league.
Wonderful to see that no one saw this signing coming either, done completely under the radar and then BOOM, signed before anyone could try to steal the lad or push up the price. The papers hopefully will feel like the mugs we know them to be today.

Yeah I really like how they have handled this signing. Delivered at the right time when fans frustrations were naturally beginning to build. He looks a bit of a player and from what ive heard we can be excited about the ammunition he could possibly provide for Owen and Oba. Its competition for places we need. There is nothing better than new signings competing for places to give current players a kick up the backside.

Seems there is going to be some legals dragged on with this signing… Looks like Ashley and Co have done a shrewd bit of business getting a player on the cheap
Behold the headlines today but because they arent getting anything about transfers haha they’ve decided to print their usual dross of ‘Ashley prepared to sell’. I wonder what next… oh quite naturally ‘Owen contract under threat’ or some silly shit like that.

Seems he belonged to two clubs. Strange legals indeed.
