Keep Um Coming
Well we still seem to being linked to the weird and wonderful articles of Mike Ashley selling the toon after time and time again denials coming out of St. James Park.
Whether the source of the Intermedia Group’s approach was some sort of agent offering them the toon before even knowing if it was for sale or not who knows… Most likely. Oh you could have Newcastle United for £420 million… Not actually theirs to sell mind.
The next weird and wonderful link being the Bin Laden’s… I don’t think we need to even comment on that one.
So yet again a load of absolutely dross journalism trying to put pressure on the Toon. I just think now fans couldn’t give 2 hoots about what the papers say.

LOL!! These stories are now so stupid I’m sure it has to be Michael Palin writing them.
Everything is for sale at a price but it really doesn’t take much digging to realise someone who is after nothing but a quick buck doesn’t start setting up things like the nufc foundation.

Or buying football clubs.

Yeah. Its getting daft and I think at last most are seeing them for what they are apart from some seriously thick fans. Things quiet on the transfer front but if its anything to go by from the Jonas signing we aren’t going to hear a thing until the signing is complete. Not bad business but I think its a transition for us all. I think its seriously frustrating the papers and I wouldn’t read too much into agent talk niether as that is likely them trying to drum up business for players by linking a player to us. I actually think that would annoy our lot.

I wish we would make a move for Crouch - him and Owen together would make a great combo…when Owen is injured Martins could easily fill that hole (if he stays). Viduka is okay but should probably be moved on as he is another injury prone chap. Like the noises of Sidwell and liking the fact that we will not bow to any wage demand now.

Something bothers me about the idea of signing players from Chelsea. Can’t put my finger on it but just makes me feel their head won’t be right. Maybe just after seeing Duff I don’t know.

yeah, i know what you mean Wes, most of the players we got from chelsea (apart from Parker) haven’t set the pitch alight - with duff and babyaro being examples. also sidwell could have come to us last season with guarenteed first team football, and he opted to go to chelsea and warm the bench for bigger wages.. that tells me about the kind of person he is, and the kind of player we dont want at newcastle. no doubt he had bags of talent, but proberly lacks the the passion we toon fans demand. also he apparently wants some kind of pay off for leaving chelsea.. i dont want players that dont really wnt to be here!

Yeah I don’t like the noises surrounding Sidwell. Its almost like hes damaged goods like Babayaro, Parker, Duff have all been. I like th idea of Crouch as well but I think he ruled out coming here. Shame really. We really do have to bring in the right players and I like the fact we aren’t just the team now agents can link to in order to demand obscene wages. We’ve been too easy a touch in the past.

By the way, anyone watch the Wimbledon final? Maybe I’m stretching the imagination here but that right there was the sort of sporting hunger, grit and determination everyone would like to see in the hearts and minds of footballers today. Too much money too young? Maybe but whatever it is you just don’t see enough of it.

I have to say there is only 2 good players in mens tennis and it was no surprise to see them both in the final. Im pleased to say I tipped Nadal to have learned from last year before this start of this years tournament and was chuffed to see him beat Federer. There is nothing like a new winner to spice things up and I think the game needed it. But I do agree totally with you Wes. It should be a joy to watch like that. Such a refreshing change to see 2 guys who enjoy the game. Thats what makes a player great. Not just talent they have to have the current mental attitude to have a competitive edge to win! Not be bothered about the money but their reputation and strive to be the very best they can be at their profession which should be a privilege. I am sure there are many people who would love to swap places with them. Young footballers have it far too quickly these days. Money has completely spoilt the game and my taste for it has long been getting soured. I just don’t have the passion for football I once had. Players think they are alot bigger than what they are. Back to the tennis though and that really was the very best of sporting action. TBH it was a great day of sport as Hamilton did amazing at Silverstone and great to see him also shove it down the throats of the press. He was lapping 6 seconds faster than any other driver on the same tyres in the wet… now that is talent.

haha what’s got into big Mike?
Ashley, whose Sports Direct empire announced a huge drop in profits yesterday, has also moved to end suggestions his real passion is for Tottenham.
He said: “It’s not true. I absolutely hate Spurs and always have done.”
