Your absolutely spot on Simo. Thats exactly what I think and have been saying since Saturday. Even in fine form we would be struggling to beat Liverpool at Anfield. TBH had it not be for the fluke goal we would have made it much harder work for them. Worrying to conceded 3 goals in about 10 mins either side of half time. You could tell they hoyed the towel in when they got done with that flukey goal again to get hit again for the 2nd. Had they made it to half time 1 - 0 down it might still have been a bit more fight. I dont think they or the fans ever expected to get anything though in reality. Now though the season starts and its down to business. Bit of a nightmare Wigan getting a point against Arsenal. That could be a very important point for them. We must try our best for 6 points in the next 2 games. It will make the difference to the end of the season. If they dont its gonna be nail biting and would be worrying coming into the following matches.

Well, 3-0, had to be expected. Players didn't really show up which is understandable but pretty worrying.

Anyway, our season starts here in a funny way. You only realise what a hard task Keegan has had when you relaise since he's turned up we've played against the teams in positions:
18th (Bolton)
1st (Arsenal)
12th (Middlesbrough)
6th (Villa)
2nd (Man Utd)
7th (Blackburn)
4th (Liverpool)
Hardly a balanced set of games for a team converting from all-out defence to flowing attacking football, low on confidence and without the players to play attacking football. From now on we have:
(17th) Birmingham
(19th) Fulham
(11th) Tottenham
(13th) Reading
(9th) Portsmouth
(16th) Sunderland
(10th) West Ham
(3rd) Chelsea
(5th) Everton
Up until maybe Chelsea we have a run of winnable games. What it really comes down to is whether Keegan can motivate a group of players who've forgotten how to win and know that many of them will be shipped out in summer anyway, playing against teams who maybe know better how to have a relegation fight. From this point on though, there's no cushion and no excuses.

Don't worry Penti, I know exactly what you mean. The guy's really not likeable - possibly because no one likes someone who takes an art and tries to convert it into a science, which I think explains his approach to football relatively well. Which is why it galls me somewhat when everyone else was so upset at "how we'd treated him". When did that oaf become a national treasure?! Besides, we all know the guy's guilty on the bribery front, however biased that Panorama program might have been the evidence was pretty strong...

I have no sympathy for that chimp at all.

He came into the job saying he had all these fantastic approaches to fitness blah blah blah and its been quite obvious that it was just an excuse to get all his mates jobs doing feck all for the players.

He really is a prick and tbh I feel we would be in exactly the same position as we are now, just with even more "dead-wood" players from his January spree.

If fans from other clubs think he's so damned great where are all the job offers? Where's all the punditry offers? Where's all the HUGE clubs that "deserve" him. Nowhere............

Good riddance to bad rubbish, and to still be sulking about a television programme is pathetic. The mans a joke!!!

"Sometimes fitness is a mental thing"... Really Sam? When's that then? I feel sorry for the guy getting the boot like he did (and boy have we had it in the neck over that from other fans, despite him not being liked by ANYONE up until that point) but his brand of football was absolutely horrendous. I have to say that we might have been in a better position now had he stayed (partly due to consistency), however no one would turn up at SJP to see it so who cares..?
