The media sure does love to stir it up when it comes to NEwcastle. Maybe we, as fans, set ourselves up for it?

I am seeing my father tonite who is a lifelong Newcastle fan. I havent spoken to him since the news broke and tbh I dread to think how he is feeling. His enthusiasm over the first few games, and seeing his reaction to the the new players was so refreshing. He's bound to be devasted as he has met Keegan on numerous occasions and always speaks very highly of him. He was overjoyed when Keegan returned last season.

What would Ashley and his cronies say to someone like my dad? Thats a conversation I would pay money to listen to.....

I think the feelings frm everyone sum it up. The biggest issue here is that the club doesn't feel like the fans anymore. Now it means that we simply don't care. Could this be the start of football reseting? You know like the global warming in "The Day After Tomorrow". The damange has gone too far and it kind of needs to go through the worst to come out the otherside. It could be the start of the end of Newcastle as we know it. Pains to say but that passion/heart/soul isn't there anymore. To be fair its been happening for a while but perhaps now too many cogs are now damaged and it doesnt work now. I agree what does it solve having all these super rich ploughing money into it left right and center. It will only make things worse. Football is so far from its roots now its unreal. People sitting at the top at the FA etc like the cat thats got the cream due to all these TV deals etc it all just stinks. I know what your saying about going and yes its unfair on players it isn't their faults but to go when you have no feeling for it just isnt the same. I could spend that time more constructively. Its a great sacrafice for fans to give their time and money to go and clubs just don't respect that any longer. Perhaps for genuine football these days you have to look to the lower leagues? Im so sick of NUFC looking like a complete joke. We always seem to get the short straw and look like complete muppets. Im sure the likes of Sky etc now have a work flow process which includes us losing a manager which they work to each time. Its just so well rehursed now. Empty promises will now equal empty stands. I think the biggest issue isn't now that KK has left but the fact now fans have lost heart and soul for their once great club. You lose your punters with crap time after time and they eventually stop coming back for more. Thats just happened I think.

I agree Penti. They buy these clubs partly as businesses, but they don't make much of a profit, so mainly they're play-things. So why have a toy you can't properly play with? Of course they're going to start meddling with the team, thinking they know best. It's Champ Manager, just using the real life clubs. Every fan in the land thinks they know best and would meddle if they could, so why wouldn't these new owners?

This is all going to blow up in their faces though. The fans won't take it forever. Problem is, with all of these billionaire owners coming in and buying the clubs as play-things, it'll all come to an end eventually. The TV money will run out, or they'll simply get bored. Each one comes in and decides they'll throw the money about and they'll be able to buy silverware. But there's only ever one Premiership title, one FA Cup winner and one Champions League winner each year. They'll invest hundreds of millions per year and will still find they get no financial or silverware return. At that point, they'll drop their clubs like a sack of sh*t, leaving the fans to pick up what's left of the clubs (many of which may fold due to the high costs/wages and sudden lack of sugar-daddy).

That's why I'm one of the few of us who don't want some rich owner from the Middle East/India/America etc. Nor do I want yet another unknown Spanish manager... It really is sad that in the Premiership now, we won't bring our own young managers through - we just bring in managers from Spain, where they do take a chance on them... That's part of the reason I was so proud of Keegan - he was English, and he was a (adopted) Geordie. He was one of us - and I for one don't believe any foreign coach will get us playing football half as good as the entertainment he did and increasingly would have given to us.

Anyway, I for one am just exhausted by Newcastle United, and just feel like I need a break from caring... It doesn't even feel like it's my, or any of the rest of us's club anymore.

What can I say..............

Like you guys I am truly gutted. Christ knows where we go from here? Why, why, why do we have to keep going through this shite all the time?
We had turned on corner in terms of footballing, financially things appeared to have improved and it seemed like everything was moving in the right direction.

I really wonder whether Mike Ashley has any clue about the backlash the club is going to receive over this?

But ya know the worst part about all this? All the f**king idiots from other clubs that are takin the piss, slagging KK off, laughing at us etc etc. havent realised that this same situation could happen to any of their clubs too. This current trend of clubs having big money owners is gonna backfire on EVERYBODY !!! Eventually all these corporate owners are going to want to take over the running of EVERY aspect of their club, leaving more and more managers with less and less control. Mark my words, this is just the beginning....

I had been giving them the benifit of the doubt that the communication channels were all open and that they were actually working from some sort of say so from KK. Seems I was wrong to give them that benefit and out of interest , I wonder who if anyone he was talkling about when he said, "a manager shouldn't have any player he doesn't want imposed on him".

I actually feel sick. I for one feel like;
a) A great bloke and Newcastle legend has been screwed over
b) The fans have been shafted, and
c) There's no way we can bring in a decent manager to this joke of a club
I feel bad for the season ticket holders. You've paid all of that money, but the only way to hit Ashely is in the pocket. We either need a massive boycott, or at least hit them by ensuring no one pays a single penny more. No buying food, no beer, no new shirts. I for one (as a non-season ticket holder) won't go to a game until this has all been sorted out.
Plus, I think that those season ticket holders that do go should have a silent sit in. No cheering the team, nothing. They'll run out to a wall of silence. Although that's hard on the team, the press it will get and the pressure the players will then exert on the board etc will be massive.
Either way, we have to do something. This guy is destroying our club. I for one agree with the cost-cutting, it's necessary, but not under-mining the manager, especially not Special K.

gutted, absolutely gutted :( really now, we were turning the corner.. getting it right.. 4 pts from three games is a good start.. played two of the top four.. i was positive that with kev at the helm we could make a change this season.. and now.. well now we're in a puddle of poo.. the players will not be so sure about where they fit in.. who'd want to manage this team.. other than wise... Toon, if i were you i'd go to the game.. you've already paid for the ticket.. go there, and support the team, not the board or wise or llambias or ashely.. support the lads wearing our beloved black and white! show our digust for the way king kev has been treated and basically forced to resign!

I have to totally agree with you Wes. I have probably had my final straw. Along with KK goes all trust for the way football is today. Im still reflecting on it all to be fair. Its as though the passion quite simply aint there even though I have the season ticket... Will I even go...
