Whos Next?
Well after what many believe is complete common sense, Harry Redknapp will not be the next Newcastle United manager. So who will?
Well after his odds prior to yesterday evening had lengthened to as much as 30-1 wor Alan Shearer is now back as favourite after it came out that he would accept the job if it was offered to him. A sudden change of heart? Who knows? It certainly seems to have thrown some spanners in the works.
But on most phone ins, internet sites and in general discussions most fans want an experienced proven manager.. which being honest Allardyce nor Redknapp actually had at winning something. That man the fans want is Jose Mourinho. Whether money talks and he would want to be someones sloppy seconds who knows? His general availability is unknown as well due to his compensation package agreed with Chelsea. Many believe this would rule him out until the end of the season.
Perhaps the main solution is Shearer installed as caretaker manager until the end of season waiting for Jose to step in once he is available?
Just another day in the life as a magpie!

Well it could be a chance now for Alan Shearer if not then it has to go to a european manager. One name that has not come up is possibly Scolari?

I’d be happy to see Van Gaal or Houllier… Mourinho would be great but I’d be amazed to see him turn up.

The more I think about Houllier the more I think no. Your right about Jose I really doubt he’d be sloppy seconds but money talks.

Having thought about it, my vote is 100% for Louis Van Gaal. A proven, established winner who produces teams that play it along the ground and play possession football. He’s a real character (look him up on Youtube, you’ll see what I mean) and will have the confidence and bloody-mindedness needed for the job. Oh and he speaks perfect English. He’s definitely the man for us. Any views?

Ive said many a time before a big fan of the Van Gaal!
His teams have always played attractive football on the deck. Hes tactically astute and a proven big name. Im sure he could be available if Ashley went calling. Im not sure but I get the feeling Ashley after someone he can relate to and true to the roots of football to build some sort of stability for once. Yes we’ve sacked plenty managers in the past but I truely believe Ash tried to give Sam a chance even though he wasnt his choice. In the end it didnt work out. I think the next manager he’ll back and give the time. Im not completely adverse to Shearer but I would hate to see him fail.
