Wise Signing
Keegan has moved quickly to bring in a new member to our coaching staff in the shock shape of the mini man Dennis Wise.
After ruling out Shearer as his number 2 Wise has come in after guiding Leeds to a strong position in Division 1 after they fell from grace in the Championship.
The damage had already been done when Wise stepped in to sort the mess out with Gus Poyet. Since Wise has done wonders when Leeds had 15 points deducted at the start of the season and also lost Poyet to Ramos’s Spurs.
It will probably come as a shock to many but I think this could be a good move from Kevin and the board.
What do you think of the wise man?

I couldn’t stand him as a player and feel no real liking for the man. Then again, he’s done well at Leeds although surely any manager with half a brain would do, they’re way too big for that division? Either way if he plays good football and gets the team playing well I don’t care either way…

I like this - I mentioned on teamtalk that Wise may be a lookin for the main job at NUFC. I like managers that can take a little and make a lot out of it - he has done that at Leeds. We need passion and we have 2 men who can do that at the club now… he has a little experience and will be able to expand that now. Good job Keegan - now we need to knuckle down and start the slow move up the table into Europe:)

Simo Leeds may in the eyes of many be seen as a big club but their playing squad was never that of a big club after it had been decimated time and time again. Wise has done a very good job there with very little. We’ve heard that one before though with Sham Allardyce.

Very true. Thing is though, “Director of Football”? Does anyone honestly believe that a young, ambitious manager like Wise is going to be happy to sit back and just deal with contracts, scouting, youth team, new signings etc? The story that Keegan wasn’t even told let alone consulted really worries me… I don’t think Wise can do this job and quite frankly I’d rather have Shearer. So I’m not keen on him being there looking over Keegan’s shoulder all of the time.

Looks like I’ll have to take that comment back - it appears that Wise DOES want to sit back, deal with contracts, scouting, new signings etc… It sounds like he’s been persuaded that he’ll have a much more enjoyable life taking a back seat, away from the dugout. Still, we’ll see how it turns out. Interesting news about the other two guys mentioned too… Worth a read on nufc.com

Interesting article on www.nufc.com
Seems we arent just getting Mr Wise, but 2 others as well. It makes interesting reading and goes a long way to explain the decisions made.
I was feeling pretty low about the Wise thing, but having read that article is has cleared things up and I’m positive and upbeat again……… despite being knackered, over-worked and skint
Would like to see some trnasfer activity though. I know we have players coming back from suspensions and injuries, but the players concerned are a tad hot-headed so the same problem could re-occur. We need to stregthen asafp

What mediocrity is this? Signing famous former players is fantasist. Does Mike Ashley think he is playing championship manager where dream teams are put together without any thought.
